Midway through 2022, Britannia Parking took control over a major Birmingham car park: the Grand Central multi-storey. Recently refurbished, the car park is only a few minutes’ walk from the many shops, restaurants, and activities found within Birmingham City Centre.
THE CAR PARK
The car park is one of the key parking areas for the New Street railway station and the Bullring & Grand Central shopping destination. Bullring & Grand Central has over 150 shops and 40 restaurants to visit, making it a very popular spot for locals and visitors alike.
The car park has 11 floors with over 450 spaces available for the public to use - 23 are disabled spaces, and 13 are family spaces. It is open 24/7.
WHAT CAR PARK MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS DID WE OFFER?
To improve its profitability and convenience, we integrated the car park into the online platform powered by Your Parking Space. Payments can be made through the app at the time of exit, with a pre-booking facility also available. This made it straightforward for users to pay for their parking - they simply needed to download the app on their phones, and they could then use it to book their space ahead of time, either on an hourly or monthly basis. They could also easily extend their space if needed.
Various marketing and promotional campaigns were conducted by Britannia Parking to encourage motorists' activity to reaffirm the opening of the car park after refurbishment closure.
THE RESULTS
Ultimately, our payment upgrades left the Grand Central car park more convenient and appealing to visitors. Our marketing encouraged more people to travel to the area, benefiting local businesses and the community overall.
